C++ is relatively an old programming language. It was used as an enhancement of the old C language, introducing objects and as a result, a new code architecture. Due to its unprotected nature, unlike C# or Java, it is considered relatively hard to control and buggy, but most efficient and enables easier access to memory, ports and devices. Today the compilers do optimize other languages to run almost as fast.
